The Pittsburgh Penguins continue to add depth to their defence by acquiring Chris Wideman from the Florida Panthers.

The Panthers will receive forward Jean-Sebastien Dea in return.

The move comes minutes after the team added Erik Gudbranson from the Vancouver Canucks.

The Penguins will be Wideman’s fourth team this season after he also played for the Ottawa Senators, Edmonton Oilers and Panthers. In 25 games this season he has two goals and seven points.

Dea, 25, has spent most of the season in the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. In 26 AHL games he has six goals and 22 points.
