Penguins re-sign forward Teddy Blueger to one-year contract

Executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford announced Tuesday that the Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed forward Teddy Blueger to a one-year contract.

Blueger was signed to a two-way deal that contains an average annual value of $650,000 at the NHL level.

The 23-year-old Latvian wrapped up his second full professional season with the Penguins’ AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in 2017-18. In 70 games played, Blueger ranked second on the team’s scoring list with 21 goals, and third in points with 45.

The Penguins selected Blueger 52nd overall in the 2012 NHL Draft.
