Penguins targeting Phil Kessel on trade front

Elliotte Friedman of NHL on Sportsnet joins Brady and Walker to talk about the potential of a Phil Kessel trade, the notable restricted free agents this summer and much more.

With the Toronto Maple Leafs in full re-build mode, it would come as no surprise to see one of Phil Kessel, captain Dion Phaneuf or any number of other veterans traded for young players and/or salary cap relief.

As Cox reports, Kessel is just one of a number of forwards the Penguins are interested in acquiring to add some scoring punch on the wing.

In terms of the young Penguins defenceman Cox is referring to, they could include Olli Maatta, Derrick Pouliot or Scott Harrington.
