Wideman (hamstring) will miss the final six games of the season.
Impact
Ottawa's fourth-round (100th overall) draft pick from 2009 reportedly is still in recovery mode after going under the knife to reattach his torn hamstring muscle, with the surgeon recommending that he not play again this season. This seems like a wise decision given that the Senators have no shot at the playoffs. Wideman finishes with eight points (three goals, five assists) and a plus-5 rating through 16 games.
According to coach Guy Boucher, Wideman (hamstring) has not been ruled out for the season and could still return to action, per TSN 1200 Ottawa.
Impact
Wideman last played Nov. 16 against Pittsburgh when he sustained a ripped hamstring. Prior to getting hurt, the defenseman tallied three assists in his previous four outings and seemed poised for a productive 2017-18 campaign. Even if Wideman does suit up this year, the focus is likely more on getting him ready for next season, as the Sens are all but eliminated from the playoffs.

Wideman has been out since Nov. 16, and a report from the Ottawa Sun published Feb. 17 detailed how the defenseman has "a ways to go" before returning to action. Impact
Wideman's been limited to 16 games this season, as he went under the knife to repair his torn hamstring. Ottawa's fourth-round pick (100th overall) from the 2009 NHL Entry Draft seems to have a bright future ahead of him; he's physical and had shown tremendous vision on the way to back-to-back 42-assist seasons with the AHL's Senators between 2013-15, but his focus is squarely on getting healthy at the moment.
Wideman (hamstring) will meet with a surgeon to determine whether he can return this season, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Impact
Wideman's torn hamstring is expected to keep him off game ice for 4-to-6 months, and it's already been over a month and a half since the team first learned about the defenseman's prognosis. However, this next appointment should officially determine whether Wideman has a chance of returning at any point in the 2017-18 campaign. Ottawa is near the basement of the Atlantic Division, so there may not be a chance for the two-way skater to set hi near-time sights on playoff competition.
Wideman (hamstring) will undergo surgery to repair his torn hamstring, which will sideline him for 4-to-6 months, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Impact
The short end of Wideman's timeline will have him eligible to return April 2 versus Winnipeg in one of the final games of the regular season. It's probably premature to completely rule out the defenseman for the entire year, but it will definitely require him to be on top of his recovery. The Missouri native was on pace to set career highs in goals, assists and shots on goal prior to getting hurt, so fantasy owners in deeper dynasty leagues may want to consider stashing him.

It's already been established that the burgeoning blueliner will be lost for months, but soon enough, you will have a better clue as to whether he can be safely dropped in all leagues.

Impact

Wideman is expected to be out "weeks" after sustaining a ripped hamstring.
Impact
Prior to getting hurt in Thursday's matchup with Pittsburgh, Wideman managed to garner an assist in just 8:16 of ice time. The blueliner had been suiting up as a forward for the Senators, as coach Guy Boucher was utilizing 11 forwards and seven defensemen -- a strategy that will likely need to change now that the team will be without Wideman for a an extended chunk of time. While it may not be official yet, the 27-year-old will almost certainly be placed on injured reserve to free up a roster spot.
Wideman tacked on a secondary assist in Thursday's 3-1 home loss to the Penguins.
Impact
Look no further if you're seeking a sneaky defenseman to stream in daily fantasy. Wideman is only averaging 11:33 of ice time this season, yet he's operating at a half-point-per-game pace to complement a plus-5 rating. It's going to be extremely difficult for the American blueliner to maintain a shooting percentage of 12.5, but he does get over two minutes of power-play ice time each game to keep him relevant in fantasy games.
