Tavares had two power-play assists, one to Auston Matthews and one to Nazem Kadri, helping his team earn a 5-2 win over Colorado on Tuesday.
Impact
Whether he's finding the twine or finding a teammate, Tavares has been a reliable producer for the Leafs all season. It won't be easy, but his pace suggests a 90-point season is a realistic possibility, which would also be a career high.
Tavares scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over Montreal. The goal was the game-winner.
Impact
It was his third straight two-point game. Tavares has 60 points, including 33 goals, in 54 games this season. He and Mitch Marner are a perfect fit. A new career mark in points awaits. So does a shot at 50 goals.
Tavares scored a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Senators.
Impact
His first season as a Maple Leaf continues to go swimmingly. Tavares has six goals and 14 points in 14 games to begin 2019, and while he's on pace to set a new career high in goals -- he's only six back of the 38 he potted in 2014-15, with 29 games left on the schedule -- there may actually be some untapped upside in his overall production, given that he's managed only 10 points with the man advantage all season. Better luck on the power play could see Tavares wind up with the first 90-point campaign of his career.
Tavares scored a goal and an assist in Monday's 6-1 win over the Ducks.
Impact
Like clockwork, the 28-year-old found his way back onto the scoresheet, potting his 31st goal of the season to open the scoring early in the second period. Tavares hasn't gone more than two games all season without registering a point, an amazing display of consistency that gives him added value in weekly head-to-head formats, and he's on pace for career highs in both goals and points in his first campaign with the Leafs.
Tavares scored his 30th goal of the season in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Coyotes.
Impact
Tavares has 19 points in his last 15 games, dating back to Dec. 18. The 28-year-old hometown has been huge for the Maple Leafs all season and is now up to 53 points in 48 games. He was a minus-1 in the loss but is still an impressive plus-14 in 2018-19.
Tavares recorded a pair of assists in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Lightning.
Impact
Tavares now has five points in his last two road games and remains second on the Maple Leafs with 52 points, trailing only Mitch Marner (60). Tavares' assist on Marner's game-winning goal was his 22nd of the year, and he would add another helper on Zach Hyman's empty-net goal.
Tavares recorded two goals and an assist in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Devils.
Impact
The Devils were forced to turn to slumping netminder Keith Kinkaid with injuries eliminating all viable alternatives, and Kinkaid had no answer for the ex-Islander, who scored twice in the opening frame. Tavares needs just one more goal to reach 30 for the season -- a feat he accomplished four times in nine seasons with his previous employer. His first goal in this contest was the 300th of Tavares' career.
Tavares fired five shots in 17:17 of ice time Saturday against the Islanders, his former team. He did not register a point.
Impact
His six-game point streak was snapped Saturday by an Isles squad led by Mathew Barzal, who rubbed the match in 91's face by notching a natural hat trick. Still, Tavares is on pace for career numbers in his first season in blue and white. And his chemistry with Mitch Marner is remarkable. He's golden.
Tavares scored two goals, one on the power play, in Friday's 4-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
Impact
He grabbed the Leafs' first two tallies on the night, giving Tavares nine goals in his last 10 games and an eye-popping 26 goals and 44 points through 38 games to begin his tenure with Toronto. The 28-year-old has been worth every penny of his $77 million contract so far as he takes aim at the career-high 38 goals he racked up with the Islanders in 2014-15.
Tavares found twine and also generated an assist in Sunday's 5-4 overtime home win over the Red Wings.
Impact
Kasperi Kapanen delivered the game-winner in overtime, but Tavares was clutch in his own right, as he scored the equalizer with eight seconds remaining in regulation. It comes as no surprise that Tavares has been a seamless fit in Toronto, leading the Original Six club with 24 goals through 37 games.
