Kassian scored a goal Saturday in a 5-2 loss to San Jose.
Impact
It's been a largely forgettable season for the abrasive forward. But lately, Kassian is starting to show an offensive flair. He has put up nine points, including five goals, in his last 11 games. It's hard for us to think he can keep this up, but Kassian could provide fantasy value in deep formats.
Kassian recorded a goal and an assist versus Minnesota in a 4-1 win Thursday.
Impact
Kassian has racked up five goals and three helpers in his past 10 games, along with 14 shots, 19 hits and a plus-6 rating. The winger should challenge for the 20-point mark before the end of the campaign after missing that threshold by just one point last season.
Kassian scored a goal and added an assist Saturday in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Flyers.
Impact
It's been a rough season -- Kassian has just 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 48 games. But he has five points, including four goals, in his last six games. We think this is just lightning in a bottle, but Kassian would be a great standard-league addition if he can put up a few points to go with the brawn.
Kassian lit the lamp twice in Monday's win over the Sabres.
Impact
Kassian is known for his sheer brutality -- not his goal-scoring abilities. Therefore, it shouldn't come as a surprise that one of his goals was a lucky bounce off a defender's stick, but the other tally came off a back-door pass from Kyle Brodziak. Kassian now has four goals this year. It's Kassian's second two-goal game of his career and his first since February 2015.
Kassian recorded nine hits in Sunday's 1-0 victory over Calgary.
Impact
Kassian has just one point in his last 20 outings, so he won't offer much in terms of offensive production; however, the winger racked up 65 hits over that stretch and could be a low-end option in deeper formats that value ancillary stats.
Kassian scored a goal Sunday in a 2-1 overtime win versus the Blackhawks.
Impact
It was Kassian's first point of 2018-19, and as the rugged forward struggles for ice time in Edmonton, it goes without saying that nobody should be considering him for fantasy.
Kassian finished the 2017-18 season with a mere 19 points in 74 games.
Impact
After closing out the season with 19 total points (including two in his last six games), Kassian again had trouble staying away from a negative plus-minus rating (-8). The 27-year-old winger has only finished one campaign at the big level with a positive plus-minus --
+4 in 2016-17. Despite the poor contribution to goal prevention, Kassian did dole out 129 hits in 2017-18. Regardless of the stat category, the Windsor native will have trouble filling much of anything as he appears to be competing in a bottom-six role with Pontus Aberg and Ty Rattie in 2018-19.
Kassian (undisclosed) will slot back into the lineup against the Blue Jackets on Tuesday, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
Impact
Kassian will return following a five-game stint on the sidelines due to his undisclosed injury. The winger figures to take on a bottom-six role, with Jesse Puljujarvi or Iiro Pakarinen the odds on favorites to be relegated to the press box. Prior to getting hurt, the 26-year-old Kassian was bogged down in a nine-game goal drought, during which he added a lone assist, six shots and two blocks.
Kassian (undisclosed) is out for Sunday's game against the Ducks, Tom Gazzola of TSN reports.
Impact
This marks the fifth game missed with this ailment, but the report is that he could be back Tuesday against the Blue Jackets. The Oilers have been getting some production out of Ty Rattie and Pontus Aberg, so they haven't really missed their 27-year-old depth forward.
Kassian (undisclosed) did not participate in line rushes Saturday, suggesting he will miss the evening's contest against the Kings, Reid Wilkins of 630 CHED reports.
Impact
Kassian will skip his fourth straight game because of the undisclosed issue, but his presence on the ice at practice provides some encouragement that a return may be around the corner. Regardless, the majority of fantasy owners are unlikely to concern themselves with his status considering the bottom-six forward owns just 17 points -- seven goals and 10 assists -- through 68 games this season.
