The Nashville Predators have acquired forward Nick Baptiste from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for defenceman Jack Dougherty.

Baptiste, 23, was a third-round pick of the Sabres in 2013. He split last season with the Sabres and Rochester Americans of the AHL. At the NHL level, he had four goals and six points in 33 games.
Dougherty, 22, was a second-round pick by the Predators in 2014. He’s spent the last two seasons with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL, where he has scored three goals and added 22 assists in 141 games.
