Nashville Predators forward Colton Sissons will not be suspended for his cross-check on Olli Maatta, the NHL’s department of player safety announced Friday.
The 23-year-old got into a scuffle with Maatta in the final minute of Pittsburgh’s Game 5 win, cross-checking the Penguins defenceman in the face.
Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan told reporters on Friday that Maatta was “fine.”
Sissons has six goals and 12 points in 23 games this post-season for Nashville.
The Predators will attempt to keep their season alive in Game 6 at home on Sunday.
