Predators loan Eeli Tolvanen to KHL’s Jokerit until NHL’s 2020-21 season

Nashville Predators rookie Eeli Tolvanen scores his first career NHL goal against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Nashville Predators have loaned forward Eeli Tolvanen to KHL club Jokerit, the team announced Monday.

Earlier this month, the KHL announced its 2020-21 season would begin on Sept. 2. The European league’s 2019-20 season was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Predators said Tolvanen will return to the Predators organization prior to training camp in preparation of the NHL’s 2020-21 campaign.

Tolvanen spent one season with the Jokerit — based in Helsinki in his native Finland — in 2017-18, before making his way over to North America to officially join the Predators. The 21-year-old put up 21 goals and 36 points in 63 games for the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals in 2019-20.

The Vihti, Finland native was originally drafted 30th overall by the Predators back in 2017.
