Predators’ Roman Josi escorts youngsters to Best Buddies Gala

Need another reason to root for the underdog Nashville Predators? Have a look at the community involvement of defenceman Roman Josi.

The 26-year-old six-year NHL veteran recently joined with Uber to escort some Nashville-area youngsters to the local Best Buddies Gala and Casino charity event.

Check out the heartwarming video in the tweet below.

Best Buddies is a program that raises money for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It’s represented in over 100 schools across Tennessee and several Predators attended the event.

“It was awesome, we had a fun car,” Josi said in the video. “Everybody was touched. The whole gala was amazing … Most importantly, we raised a lot of money. It was an unbelievable feeling and it was a great night all around.”

Josi scored two goals to help Nashville defeat the No. 1-seeded Chicago Blackhawks, 4-1, on Thursday night, completing a four-game sweep in the first round of their Stanley Cup Playoff series.
