Predators’ Ryan Ellis recovering from knee procedure

After 18 years, the Nashville Predators score their first Stanley Cup Final goal thanks to Ryan Ellis.

Nashville Predators defenceman Ryan Ellis underwent knee surgery earlier this off-season, general manager David Poile told reporters Friday.

The team is optimistic Ellis will be healed up in time for training camp in the fall.

Ellis is coming off a career year in Nashville, registering 16 goals and 38 points in 71 games. He was a force during the post-season, too, contributing five goals and 13 points in 22 games to help the Predators reach the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in franchise history.
