The Nashville Predators are already down a game to the Chicago Blackhawks, but things may have gotten much worse on Friday night.
Captain Shea Weber suffered an injury midway through the second period of Game 2 against the Blackhawks and he will not return.
Weber’s injury occurred when he was hit by Chicago forward Brandon Saad along the boards. In the process of the hit Saad’s leg came around and appeared to clip Weber awkwardly on the right leg causing him to fall. The 29-year-old then limped off the ice, as he avoided putting too much pressure on his injured leg.

There’s been no further details of Weber’s injury, but certainly any absence by one of the premiere defenceman in all of hockey would be a significant blow to any club.
