Price, Crosby, McDavid, Kane lead NHL All-Star voting

John Scott addresses the new rules regarding the NHL All-Star vote, and explains why he actually thinks they are a good idea.

The votes are in. For now, anyway.

The 2017 NHL All-Star Fan Vote opened up on Dec. 1, and we’ve got some early leaders for each division, as announced by the league.

So far, Montreal Canadiens netminder Carey Price, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid and Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane are atop the voting standings in their respective divisions.

Fans can vote for their favourite NHLers until 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 2. The top vote-getter from each of the NHL’s four divisions will be named captain of his division’s All-Star entry.

(And no, there won’t be an opportunity for another John Scott story this year.)
