Price to start for Canadiens Friday vs. Islanders

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price comments on being injured and feeling the disconnect from his teammates.

Carey Price will start in net for the Montreal Canadiens Friday night against the New York Islanders, the team announced Thursday.

The news came following the Canadiens’ 3-2 loss to the Arizona Coyotes, and was given the stamp of approval by the goaltender himself, in the form of a thumbs-up tweet:

Price hasn’t played since sustaining a lower body injury on Oct. 29 against the Edmonton Oilers.

The 28-year-old skated for the first time last Saturday prior to the team’s morning skate, and practiced with the team Wednesday.

Backup goaltender Mike Condon filled in for the starter with a 7-2-2 record in Price’s absence.
