Carey Price will start in net for the Montreal Canadiens Friday night against the New York Islanders, the team announced Thursday.
The news came following the Canadiens’ 3-2 loss to the Arizona Coyotes, and was given the stamp of approval by the goaltender himself, in the form of a thumbs-up tweet:
Price hasn’t played since sustaining a lower body injury on Oct. 29 against the Edmonton Oilers.
The 28-year-old skated for the first time last Saturday prior to the team’s morning skate, and practiced with the team Wednesday.
Backup goaltender Mike Condon filled in for the starter with a 7-2-2 record in Price’s absence.
