WINDSOR, Ont. – Throngs of hockey fans lined the roads in Windsor today to pay tribute to NHL tough guy Bob Probert.
The 45-year-old Probert died Monday after collapsing while on a boat with his family.
Former Red Wings captain Steve Yzerman presented the eulogy at today’s funeral.
About 100 motorcycles joined a line of other vehicles in a procession that snaked through the city’s east end.
Many fans lined the route with their children. Several carried signs saying they missed Probert and road workers stood with hard hats over their hearts.
Probert’s casket was carried on a special sidecar of a motorcycle.
