Rangers agree to one-year deal with goalie Marek Mazanec

The New York Rangers have agreed to a one-year contract with goaltender Marek Mazanec.

The 26-year-old was a restricted free agent and spent this past season splitting time between the KHL’s HC Slovan Bratislava and the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL.

In 23 games in the KHL last season, Mazanec recorded a 3.40 goals-against average and an .899 save percentage, while posting a 2.97 GAA with a .905 save percentage in 20 games in the AHL.

Mazanec was originally drafted by the Nashville Predators in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL Draft.
