Rangers’ Glass fined for butt-ending McQuaid

Tanner Glass wasn't happy about how the Rangers performed on Saturday, and he allowed that frustration to show when he whipped the butt end of his stick right into Adam McQuaid's jaw during a scrum in the game's final minutes.

It didn’t take the NHL’s Department of Player Safety long to penalize Tanner Glass.

The New York Rangers forward was fined $3,897.85 for hitting Boston Bruins defenceman Adam McQuaid with the butt end of his stick on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the final minutes of Boston’s 4-2 victory. The veteran forward was upset after he took a hard hit along the boards from Bruins defenceman Matt Bartkowski earlier in the period.

Glass was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
