The New York Rangers and Cody McLeod have agreed to terms on a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

The 34-year-old forward split time between the Rangers and Nashville Predators during the 2017-18 campaign, compiling four points in 48 games. McLeod ranked sixth league-wide with 111 penalty minutes last season, and tied for second in major penalties with 13.

Over 11 seasons and 738 career NHL games, McLeod has registered 71 goals, 55 assists, and 1,563 penalty minutes. The six-foot-two, 210-pound veteran has post-season experience on his resume, having played in 38 Stanley Cup Playoff games, including a run to the Stanley Cup Final with the Predators in the 2016-17 season.

The Rangers claimed McLeod off waivers on January 25, 2018.
