Rangers’ Kevin Shattenkirk out 2-4 weeks with separated shoulder

Steven Stamkos records his 700th career point on his second goal of the game, then adds another for good measure as the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the New York Rangers 6-3.

The New York Rangers will be without defenceman Kevin Shattenkirk for the next two-to-four weeks while he recovers from a separated shoulder.

Shattenkirk suffered the injury in Monday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on a hit from former teammate J.T. Miller.

The news is just the latest setback for the 29-year-old, who is in the second season of a four-year, $26.6-million contract. Shattenkirk has only one goal and eight points in 29 games, and was made a healthy scratch for one game in October.
