San Jose Sharks defenceman Brad Stuart has a hearing with the NHL disciplinary committee Wednesday after injuring New York Rangers star forward Rick Nash Tuesday night.

Nash left Tuesday’s 9-2 road loss to Sharks after he was hit with a high elbow by Stuart early in the first period.

Stuart was given a two-minute minor for elbowing, while Nash appeared shaken up as he made his way to the Rangers bench.

Nash returned to the game briefly, registering just under six minutes of ice time, but did not come out after the first intermission.

While Nash’s status was not immediately known, he missed four games last season with a concussion after a hit from Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic.

Stuart’s play is under review as an illegal check to the head.
