Chris Falzone was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of his freshman year in high school. Doctors told him he would never play hockey again.
After undergoing treatment for cancer and working through the rigors of rehab following hip replacement, Falzone not only skated once again… he did so with the New York Rangers.
The Rangers inked the 15-year-old to a one-day contract and invited him to join the club for practice last Thursday. Falzone was also the recipient of the Broadway Hat following the Rangers’ 4-3 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night.
The Rangers granted Falzone’s wish as part of its Garden of Dreams Foundation’s Garden of Dreams Week festivities, which seeks to raise awareness and help children facing life-threatening illnesses.
