Rangers sign forward Brandon Pirri to 1-year deal

The New York Rangers have signed forward Brandon Pirri to a one-year, $1.1-million contract, as first reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Pirri totalled 14 goals and 29 points in 61 games with the Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks in 2016-17. The Ducks acquired Pirri via trade in exchange for a sixth-round pick in February of 2016.

Pirri was a 20-goal scorer with the Panthers in 2014-15, registering 22 goals in just 49 games.

The Chicago Blackhawks originally selected Pirri in the second round, 59th overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft.
