Red Wings re-sign defenceman Joe Hicketts to two-year contract

The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed defenceman Joe Hicketts to a two-year contract. Terms of the deal were not released.

Hicketts, 23, signed with the Red Wings as an undrafted free agent in 2014. The Kamloops, B.C. native has appeared in 16 games over the last two seasons with the Red Wings, picking up three assists.

In 64 AHL games with the Grand Rapids Griffins last season, Hicketts had three goals, 27 points and 67 penalty minutes.
