The NHL has handed Detroit Red Wings forward Teemu Pulkkinen a $2,000 fine for diving, the league announced Friday.
The citation for which he is being fined occurred during the first period on Nov. 8 versus the Dallas Stars.
As per the NHL’s citation scale under Rule 64, players are first given a warning. A second infraction warrants a $2,000 fine, which goes into the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
According to the NHL’s press release, Pulkkinen’s warning came after the Red Wings’ Oct. 24 game against the Vancouver Canucks.
