Red Wings trade Tomas Jurco to Blackhawks for third-round pick

Detroit and Columbus can return to the playoffs on Wednesday night.

The Detroit Red Wings have traded forward Tomas Jurco to the Chicago Blackhawks for a third-round draft pick in 2017.

Jurco, 24, has no points in 16 games with the Red Wings this season. He was taken by Detroit with the 35th pick in the 2011 NHL Draft.

The winger has 15 goals and 39 points in 159 career NHL games.

He’ll be a restricted free agent at the end of this season.
