With captain Jason Pominville’s rocket of a power-play point shot whizzing past goaltender Cam Ward and reaping overtime glory on Wednesday night over the Carolina Hurricanes, the swordsmen now sit a mere two points out of the eighth playoff spot in the East.
And of all the teams clawing at that spot—Winnipeg, Washington, Tampa Bay, Toronto—Buffalo has the best record over the last 10 games.
