Report: Blues’ Alex Pietrangelo undergoes surgery on right hand

Nick Kypreos joins Tim and Sid to discuss St. Louis Blues' Alex Pietrangelo being moved to a contender before the trade deadline, noting that the Toronto Maple Leafs could be a potential destination.

St. Louis Blues defenceman Alex Pietrangelo has had surgery on his right hand and will be re-evaluated later in December, according to Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic.

Pietrangelo has four goals and 11 points in 24 games this season for the struggling Blues club.

The 28-year-old captain has seen his name come up as a potential trade candidate ahead of February’s trade deadline.

The King City, Ont., native is signed through the 2019-20 season at a $6.5-million cap hit.
