Good news, Red Wings fans.
After missing the first five games of the regular season, Detroit Red Wings centre Pavel Datsyuk could make his season debut Tuesday night in Montreal against the Canadiens.
Datsyuk participated in the team’s practice Monday, exactly four weeks since sustaining a second-degree right shoulder separation during pre-season play against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

According to reports from the Detroit Free Press, the final decision regarding the 36-year-old’s return will be made following the Red Wings’ morning skate Tuesday.
Reports of Datsyuk’s possible debut come just after right wing Johan Franzen was placed the seven-day IR (leg). Franzen left Friday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a lower-body injury, and did not play during Saturday night’s game against the Leafs.
Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard (groin) is expected to make his return Tuesday night after being placed on 48-hour goalie IR Saturday.
