New York Rangers winger Rick Nash was injured Friday while playing for his current Swiss League team.
ESPN.com reported that Nash suffered a shoulder injury after being checked into the boards, and played one more shift before leaving the game.
“Rick was taken out for precautionary reasons,” Nash’s agent, Joe Resnick, told ESPN.com. “He’ll be re-evaluated over the next few days by the team (Davos), and we’ll see the extent of the injury, if any.”
Nash was acquired by the Rangers from the Colombus Blue Jackets this past summer, and is currently playing for Davos with San Jose Sharks’ Joe Thorton. The pair also played for Davos during the 2004-05 NHL lockout.
