Rogers on Oilers: Brimming with confidence

Edmonton Oilers' Corey Potter, 44, and Taylor Hall celebrate Hall's goal against the Vancouver Canucks during first period NHL hockey action in Edmonton, Alta., on Saturday March 30, 2013.

Tonight the Calgary Flames face the Edmonton Oilers in the first game of their home and home series. Seeing the two teams this morning, there was a noticeable difference in the confidence level of both squads.

With three straight wins, the Oilers are a very confident team and look at these next two games to bury the Flames and get themselves into a playoff position.

The Flames, on the other hand, look like a discouraged bunch lacking confidence. It has been well documented, but the Flames have lost ten straight on the road, and if Miikka Kiprusoff is not the Kipper of old, it is likely at the end of the night it will be eleven straight losses.

The key in this one tonight is for the Flames to get off to a good start, and plant some doubt into the heads of the Oilers players. If it is the other way around, this game could be over after the first twenty minutes.
