Buffalo Sabres prospect Dylan Cozens will be sidelined for the time being, as the 18-year-old is set to undergo a procedure on his left thumb, the team announced Tuesday.

Cozens suffered the injury in question on Saturday at the team’s development camp.

An update on Cozens’ recovery timeline will be provided later this week, per the Sabres.

Buffalo drafted Cozens with the seventh-overall pick during the 2019 NHL Draft. The Whitehorse, Yukon native is coming off a standout season for the WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes, where he posted 34 goals and 84 points in 68 games.
