Sabres’ Josh Gorges has fractured bone in foot, out for weeks

Tuuka Rask finished with 35 saves, Patrice Bergeron added a goal and the Boston Bruins hung on for a 2-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Buffalo Sabres defenceman Josh Gorges has a non-displaced fracture in his foot and is expected to miss weeks, according to head coach Dan Bylsma.

The blue-liner blocked a shot against the New York Rangers on Thursday and hasn’t played since.

The 32-year-old stay-at-home defenceman has one assist in 23 games this season.

Buffalo may also be without defenceman Taylor Fedun when they play the Washington Capitals on Monday.

Fedun, who has four assists in eight games, collided with Boston Bruins forward Matt Beleskey on Saturday though it is unclear what might keep the 28-year-old out of the Sabres lineup.
