Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo had surgery on his right knee and is expected to make a full recovery in six weeks, the team announced Friday.

The 32-year-old had nine goals and 19 points in 52 games with the Sabres this season. Okposo missed time with a concussion and an upper-body injury during the 2019-20 season.

Buffalo finished the pandemic-shortened season with a 30-31-8 record and were not be among the 24 teams to be part of the NHL’s 24-team return-to-play format.

Okposo has three more seasons left on his current deal that carries a $6-million cap hit.
