The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Sean Malone to a one-year, two-way contract worth $787,500 at the NHL level.

The six-foot, 197-pound centre tallied 12 goals and 10 assists in 73 games for the American Hockey League’s Rochester Americans last season.

During his four-year collegiate stint with Harvard in the ECAC, Malone recorded 99 points across 115 games, including 42 in 36 games as a senior.

The Buffalo, N.Y., native was drafted 159th overall by his hometown Sabres back in 2013 and made his first NHL appearance during Buffalo’s final game of the 2016-17 campaign.
