Buffalo Sabres forward Victor Olofsson will miss the next five to six weeks with a lower-body injury after falling hard on the ice Thursday.
Olofsson appeared to get his skate caught during Thursday’s overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers. He was seen limping off the ice after setting up Sam Reinhart‘s game-tying goal in the third period.

The 24-year-old was recently named the NHL’s Rookie of the Month award for December — the second time he’s won it this season. Olofsson leads all NHL rookies in scoring with 16 goals and 35 points in 42 games.
Scott Wilson was recalled from the Sabres’ AHL team, the Rochester Americans, on Friday as recently acquired forward Michael Frolik isn’t expected to arrive until next week.
