Sam Steel signs entry-level deal with Ducks

Sam Steel has battled a lot of adversity ahead of the Draft, but was given his moment when he pulled on the Ducks jersey as the 30th overall pick.

The Anaheim Ducks have signed forward Sam Steel to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The Ducks selected Steel with the last pick of the first round in the 2016 NHL Draft.

The 18-year-old leads the Western Hockey League with 54 points (23 goals, 31 assists), in 25 games with the Regina Pats.

Steel was one of the last cuts from Canada’s world junior team.
