Scenes from the Red Wings-Avalanche Stadium Series game

Patrick Roy and the Avalanche got a 5-2 win over Steve Yzerman and the Red Wings at the alumni game at Coors Field.

After the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche alumni took centre stage at the Stadium Series in Denver Friday, the two current clubs fought for two points on Saturday night.

It was the warmest outdoor game since the novelty began in 2003.

In warmer climates, the NHL uses fake snow to line the surrounding field. It uh…got out of control during the third period.

As funny as that was, the visuals, as always, were compelling.
