David Schlemko will make his debut for the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night against the Ottawa Senators.

The 30-year-old defenceman was acquired by Montreal from Vegas in a trade the day after the Golden Knights selected him from San Jose at the NHL Expansion Draft. Schlemko had two goals and 18 points in 62 games with the Sharks last season.

The Canadiens also announced Shea Weber will miss his fifth straight game on Wednesday.

Weber last played on Nov. 18 against the Toronto Maple Leafs and has been held out of the lineup while dealing with a lower-body injury. In 20 games, the 32-year-old has four goals and nine assists.
