The Ottawa Senators have acquired defenceman Brandon Gormley from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for future considerations.

Gormley has played in 35 games with AHL Albany this season, scoring twice and adding eight assists.

He last played in the NHL with the Colorado Avalanche, dressing for 26 games in the 2015-16 season.

The Senators have assigned the 25-year-old to AHL Binghamton. He is ineligible to play for Ottawa this season as he was acquired after the March 1 trade deadline.

The former 13th-overall pick of the Arizona Coyotes will be a restricted free agent this off-season.
