Senators’ Andrew Hammond assigned to AHL Binghamton

The Ottawa Senators have assigned goaltender Andrew Hammond to AHL Binghamton.

Hammond was recalled by Ottawa on Nov. 29 but hasn’t appeared in an NHL game since Oct. 28.

The 28-year-old has a 4.50 goals-against average and .793 save percentage in two starts this season.

The move means starter Craig Anderson is likely to join the team on its upcoming four-game road trip, which starts Monday in Pittsburgh.
