Senators’ Burrows out for Game 4 vs. Penguins with injury

Ottawa Senators forward Alex Burrows is in some discomfort as he tries to get back to the bench after going down in front of the Pittsburgh Penguins net.

Ottawa Senators forward Alex Burrows will not play in Game 4 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Earlier on Friday Senators coach Guy Boucher said Burrows would be a game-time decision. He was hurt after a mix-up in front of the Penguins’ net with defenceman Ian Cole in the second period of Game 3. He limped off the ice and went to the dressing-room after that play.

The 36-year-old has four assists in the playoffs. Viktor Stalberg is expected to replace Burrows in the lineup.

The Senators hold a 2-1 series lead over Pittsburgh heading into Friday’s matchup. Watch the game live on CBC or Sportsnet NOW at 8:00 p.m. ET.
