Senators’ Erik Karlsson will play Game 5 vs. Rangers

Guy Boucher updated on Erik Karlsson, who missed the third period, and talked about what went wrong for the Senators in a loss to the Rangers.

Ottawa Senators captain Erik Karlsson will play in Game 5 against the New York Rangers on Saturday, according coach Guy Boucher.

Boucher made the announcement to the media Friday, one day after Karlsson was held out of the third period of a 4-1 loss at Madison Square Garden.

Karlsson revealed after the first round he’d be playing through a foot injury. However, Boucher said Karlsson didn’t play the final frame Thursday as a precaution and is dealing with a lower-body ailment.

The series is even at two wins apiece with the team team winning all four games.
