The Ottawa Senators are expected to be major sellers come Monday’s NHL trade deadline, and two of their biggest names are officially up for grabs.
Ottawa made impact forwards Mark Stone and Ryan Dzingel available in trade talks Thursday, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Stone, a pending UFA, has 28 goals and 34 assists in 59 games this season. He’s set to smash his former career-high of 64 points set in 2014-15. The 26-year-old has spent his entire career with the Senators, but would be a massive boost for a team in need of scoring.
Dzingel, another career Senator whose contract expires at season’s end, is enjoying his best year as an NHLer with 22 goals and 22 assists.
The Senators are having a dismal 2018-19 campaign, owning the worst record in the NHL.
