As communities in the Ottawa-Gatineau region begin to recover from Friday’s devastating tornado, the Ottawa Senators have announced a plan to help.
The team created a GoFundMe page on Saturday in an effort to raise funds to help those affected by the storm that tore through Dunrobin and the surrounding area. The Ottawa Senators Foundation has promised to match donations up to $25,000.
“This is our home and being part of a community means coming together in times of need,” the team said in a press release. Two hours into fundraising, the page had already reached almost $12,000.
