Senators recall defenceman Thomas Chabot from AHL

Mark Borowiecki would need help getting off the ice after trying to chase down a puck and taking a hit from Brendan Smith.

The Ottawa Senators have recalled defenceman Thomas Chabot from the Belleville Senators ahead of their game against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday.

Chabot, 20, has two goals, five assists in 12 games with Belleville and two assists in three games with Ottawa this season.

The Saint-Marie, QC., native was drafted 18th overall in 2015 by the Senators.

This news comes with Ottawa dealing with injuries to defencemen Mark Borowiecki and Chris Wideman who are expected to be out of the lineup for an extended period.
