Senators recall Nick Paul, Jordan Szwarz from AHL, demote Abramov

Vladislav Namestnikov scored twice and the Ottawa Senators doubled up the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Ottawa Senators recalled forwards Nick Paul and Jordan Szwarz from the American Hockey League’s Belleville Senators on Monday.

Right-winger Vitaly Abramov was assigned to the AHL in a corresponding move.

Paul, 24, played in 20 games for the Senators last season, scoring once and adding an assist.

Szwarz, 28, last appeared in the NHL in 2017-18 with the Boston Bruins, when he played 12 games and had three assists.

Abramov has played in two games for Ottawa so far this season, scoring once against the St. Louis Blues. He played just five shifts and was a minus-one on Saturday when the Sens beat Tampa Bay for their first victory of the season.

Ottawa hosts the Minnesota Wild on Monday afternoon.
