The Ottawa Senators have signed defenceman Christian Jaros to a three-year, entry-level contract, the club announced Tuesday.

Drafted by the Senators in the fifth round (139th overall) in 2015, Jaros has spent the last three seasons playing for Lulea HF of the Swedish Hockey League. The 21-year-old established new professional highs with five goals and eight assists in the 2016-17 campaign.

A native of Kosice, Slovakia, Jaros has represented his country at the 2016 world championship and twice at the world juniors. He won a bronze medal at the 2015 event and captained the team a year later.
