The Ottawa Senators and head coach Dave Cameron have an agreement in place on a two-year contract extension, general manager Bryan Murray confirmed Thursday.
Murray said the contract will be signed once a technical hurdle is cleared.

“It’s agreed to and we’re waiting on some language,” Murray said. “One paragraph to make it firm.”
Cameron helped guide the Senators to the post-season after taking over head coaching duties from Paul MacLean in December, with the club sitting in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.
The Senators rode white-hot goaltending and an overall improved game to a 32-15-8 finish under Cameron, including a remarkable 23-4-4 to snag a once seemingly unattainable playoff spot.
Cameron worked as an assistant on MacLean’s staff since 2011. He was already under contract with the Senators for two more seasons, but this new deal will reflect his position as head coach of the club.
