Craig Anderson will start in net on Thursday night when the Ottawa Senators visit the Florida Panthers.
The Senators announced the move on their Twitter feed Thursday morning.
Anderson suffered a lower-body injury on March 1 in a game against the St. Louis Blues. The 34-year-old appeared to overextend his leg in the crease during the second period.
The Senators (31-29-8) dropped three of their four games since the injury with Andrew Hammond in net.
Ottawa is five points behind the Detroit Red Wings for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Anderson is 27-20-4 with a 2.81 goals-against average and .917 save percentage this season.
