Sharks’ Couture leaves game vs. Blues after awkward fall along boards

Logan Couture is forced to exit the game after the goes into the boards awkwardly and comes up with an apparent knee injury.

San Jose Sharks centre Logan Couture left the team’s 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday and did not return following an awkward fall along the boards.

Couture, 30, was in a race for the puck in the Blues’ zone with Vince Dunn at 12:24 of the second period when he got tied up with the defenceman and appeared to slam his left knee awkwardly into the boards.

The longtime Shark had to be helped off the ice.

Couture, an 11-year veteran, has 36 points in 44 games with San Jose this season.
